Marina Heartfield
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Ms. Heartfield spent decades as a ballerina and an educator. Passionately committed, fiercely advocating and supporting Wonder Youth Foundation and its mission. Ms. Heartfield is the treasurer of the board.
Marina Heartfield began dancing seriously at the age of nine, taking ballet classes in her native Colorado at the Arvada Center of the Arts. She advanced to the Academy of Classical Ballet and made her debut with the Colorado Ballet at thirteen. She went on to study with Ballet West, Ballet Arts Denver, Boston Ballet, and Academy of the Arts in Champaign, Illinois, and trained with dance masters Edward Villella, Alexandra Danoliva and Robert Joffrey.
Marina's career as a ballerina and contemporary dancer spanned ten years, performing and touring the United States with such companies as David Taylor Dance Theater, Ballet Arts Denver, Chicago Ballet, Colorado Ballet, Ballet Entre Nous, and Bruce Wood Dance. She has danced lead roles in numerous productions of Giselle, Petrushka, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty, as well as nearly every character in The Nutcracker. Marina has also worked as an instructor teaching ballet to students.
Ms. Heartfield is the mother of four children and lives in Altadena, California.
