Our Founder
Shannon Tsai
A rising senior at San Marino High School, Shannon founded Wonder Youth Foundation to assist youth dancers and bridge opportunities in the performing arts.
Born and raised in California, Shannon began ballet lessons at the age of three. Dance and music would become her two greatest passions, receiving ballet training from former ballet artist and esteemed mentor Alexey Kulpin, and music training from cello instructor Ryan Sweeney. With strong ambitions for both art forms, She explores herself as a classical dancer and contemporary choreographer, performing her first choreographed piece at the grand final of the American Ballet Competition in Florida, 2022.
She is a young cellist for the Philharmonic Orchestra in Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra in California, and a proud member of the San Marino High School's Symphonic Orchestra. Shannon also took part as a student musician for LA Opera's "On Gold Mountain" summer performance in 2022. Furthermore, she assumed the role of principal cellist during PYSO's 2024 Italy tour, performing solo parts in their Rovigo and Cremona concerts.
Shannon takes interest in cooking and baking, and enjoys practicing musical repertoire with the company of her cats. In her own time, she finds excitement in reading, film, and exploring her music tastes.
Shannon invites you to join her in sharing our visions and mission to make these goals possible.
