Vero Shamo Garcia

Ms. Shamo-Garcia is an award-winning filmmaker and producer, an active member of the National Charity League, and a leader for Girl Scouts. She is the back bone of the Wonder Youth’s creative force, also bringing to the Wonder Youth Foundation vast knowledge of strategic planning, marketing and public relations. Ms. Shamo-Garcia oversees the foundation’s fundraising and serves as an adviser for the Board of Directors.

 


Vero Shamo-Garcia was originally from Ecuador and holds an MFA in film production from USC's School of Cinematic Arts. She was the winner of the Academy of Arts and Science Multi-camera Directing Student Award as well as the EP Partners Student Award for producing. Her short films De las Calles and Limpiando Sapos won the Director's Guild of America Student Award in 2005, and in 2008, respectively, she produced Mei, winner of the Silver Bear at the Berlinale Film Festival. Her feature films include Trail of Blood released by Lionsgate in 2013, and Commencement, released by Indian Pictures in 2017.
